In his book “To Sell Is Human” Daniel Pink outlines a key concept he calls information symmetry to help describe why the information age has made a salesperson out of all of us. In this podcast and the corresponding article, I add a similar idea that I am calling opportunity symmetry to Pinks information symmetry. The bottom line: players and parents know more about your sport than ever before and they have more opportunities to participate than ever before, therefore, you’re in sales. Like it or not.
