The 3 Ingredient Recipe for Great Leadership
Posted by Kurt Earl in Public
Great leaders are…
1. EASY to please
2. HARD to satisfy
3. NEVER lose hope.
If you want to be a better leader become easy to please. Search for opportunities to say “Great job” or “Much better, way to focus” or “That’s exactly what we want.”
If you want to be a better leader be hard to satisfy. While you’re searching for ways to express that you are pleased also be searching for ways your athletes can be getting better. “That was so much better. Good job. Now, focus on [this] and you’ll be even better at [that].”
If you want to be a better lead never lose hope. As Jim Collins would say, face the brutal facts and retain faith that you will prevail.
If you want to be a great leader mix all of those ingredients into every interaction you have all day long.
