Great team members are motivated by a love for each other and a love for the team. When everyone on the team truly loves and cares for another and desires to achieve the team’s goals together a powerful level of motivation is unleashed.

But what does it look like to be motivated by love when conflict breaks out?

Alexander Strauch’s book Leading With Love provides several ways someone who is motivated by love responds to conflict. The list below comes from Strauch’s chapter on resolving conflict and is simple to understand, but not easy to live out.

  • Love curbs anger
  • Love acts with a humble spirit
  • Love pursues peace
  • Love forgives
  • Love considers what is right for everyone on the team
  • Love does not seek personal retaliation or revenge.
