CultureCoordinator Blog

What’s the biggest challenge you have faced in the last year as the Culture Coordinator of your program? Overcoming a losing streak? Needing to make personnel changes? Struggling to get the resources your team needs to be successful? Relationship with parents?

The list could go on and on, right?

When you accept a leadership role it’s only a matter of time before the challenges begin to come at you and once they start coming they keep coming like wave after wave on the shoreline of the ocean. If you allow yourself to get lost in the moment and consumed by the tyranny of urgent you’re going to make decision based on the emotions you are experiencing rather than what’s truly best for the program.

I’d like to suggest a simple way gain some perspective on your decision making as you face the challenges of leadership that I picked up from Thrive on Challenge.
